Switching to organic production

During a transitional phase when you switch to organic farming residues of fertilisers and crop-protection agents will disappear from your soil. Although you will have switched to using organic cultivation methods, your produce may in this phase not yet be sold as organic produce. The Dutch foundation Stichting Skal will perform inspections and – when all the requirements are met – will certify the use of the EU covering logo for organic produce.

How long will it take to switch to organic production?

• Hard fruit: 3 years
• Outdoor cultivation: 2 years
• Greenhouse cultivation: 2 years or 0.5 year
